Benchmark Showcases All-New Wrapper Infeed, Product Handling and Pouch Machinery At Pack Expo Connects

STATHAM, GA., October 6, 2020 - Benchmark, Kleenline and Southern will display a range of innovative solutions for food and non-food manufacturers at Pack Expo Connects 2020. Add our virtual showroom to your trade show planner, check out our showcased products, and attend live stream demos featuring an all-NEW Benchmark wrapper infeed, the InFlight AC Loader. This "self loading infeed" accepts a single lane of randomly spaced product and automatically loads it into the wrapper flights at speeds up to 500 ppm. Products are loaded individually onto autonomous carts as they are received. The carts are driven from an Allen Bradley iTrak system. Loaded carts are queued upstream of the wrapper flight chain and transferred into wrapper lugs. The length of the queue will be used to set the wrapper run speed. This is a truly non-contact system for products that cannot be backlogged due to shape or for fragile, sticky products that may be damaged by belts overrunning them. In addition to these benefits, this new loader is quicker to changeover and easier to clean. The product carts can be quickly removed and replaced if required for size changes or offline cleaning regimens. Rather than shutting the machine down at regular intervals for cleaning in place, one set of carts can be soaking while the other set is in use. This wrapper infeed will be displayed as part of a continuously running system configured in a loop. This system is comprised of the all-new Benchmark InFlight AC Loader, a Pick-and-Place Robot System, and a Horizontal Wrapper.
Our Kleenline sanitary product solution will consist of an integrated conveyor system equipped with two high-speed Reciprocators, demonstrating product distribution from a single lane to multiple rows or from multiple rows to a single lane. Reciprocators are commonly used to distribute a single lane across a wider belt for entry to a freezer or oven infeed or to take rows discharged from your process equipment and send a single lane of randomly spaced product to your wrapper or primary packaging system. Kleenline's product handling solution featured during Pack Expo Connects will include an integrated conveyor equipped with an Intralox Activated Roller Belt (ARB) 90-Degree Transfer S400 used to edge align a single lane of product. Kleenline's system provides uniform product distribution and fast cycle times to deliver the ideal solution for achieving optimum efficiency in packaging lines.
Southern's iconic PowerPouch Intermittent Motion Packager will also be featured. This versatile horizontal form-fill-seal pouch packaging machine is designed to enhance efficiency and productivity in any packaging environment. Southern will be displaying a PowerPouch IM 7-16 machine producing 4-sided pouches from rollstock. Pouches will be filled from a servo auger filler integrated into the pouch machine controls, resulting in a single operator interface.
